Based on an unsafe weather forecast of subzero cold and high winds, the George Washington Birthday Celebration Committee, in conjunction with Pacers Running and the City of Alexandria has decided to postpone the GW Birthday 10K Classic and associated Military Family Expo scheduled for Sunday, 15 February at the US Patent and Trade Office.
Because the GW Birthday 10K Classic is the longest standing race in Alexandria continuously running since 1973, we will seek to reschedule the race in March or April. Details and date will be sent at a later date.

If the alternative, you may choose to transfer your registration to a 2015 Pacers Running race. Pacers Running will issue a $40 credit to any participant seeking this option; rules and restrictions apply.
To apply for this option you must contact our registrar, Gail Hughes, Pacers Running at gail@runpacers.com by February 25th. At this point, the Armed Forces Covenant ceremony and GW Birthday Parade will continue as scheduled for Monday, 16 February.
We apologize for the inconvenience to our runners and volunteers, but safety dictated a race postponement. We look forward to seeing you all at the rescheduled event…and we will reopen registration at that time, so bring a friend!
