U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says it has taken custody of a man sentenced for illegal filming in an Alexandria bathroom.
ALEXANDRIA, VA – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced on Wednesday that it had arrested a Maryland man convicted over the summer of illegal filming in an Alexandria restaurant bathroom.
According to an ICE press release, Joshua Hombrebueno, 20, of Oxon Hill, was arrested on Tuesday. Hombrebueno was sentenced to six months in prison and five years' probation in August after being convicted on two counts of unlawful filming of a nude person over 18 and a felony count of unlawfully filming a minor.
Hombrebueno, who is originally from the Philippines, was originally charged with three felony counts and nine misdemeanor counts of unlawful image creation after a mother and three-year-old girl discovered a cell phone secretly recording people in an employee bathroom in Del Ray’s Gustave Boulangerie in September 2025. Hombrebueno worked at the restaurant.

He does not yet appear on the Department of Homeland Security web page cataloging detentions of undocumented migrants convicted of crimes in the U.S.
A DHS spokesperson told Patch, "On October 12, 2026, Joshua Gabriel Car Hombrebueno, a criminal illegal alien from the Philippines convicted of two counts of obscene material and three counts of felony distribution of obscene material, was transferred to ICE custody. He legally entered the U.S. on April 13, 2024, but due to his criminal behavior, was placed into removal proceedings. All of his claims will be heard by an immigration judge, and he will receive due process. This administration will not ignore the rule of law."
