Israeli Prime Minister: Stopping for Dinner in Alexandria?

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara reportedly made stops at two area restaurants as well as Mount Vernon during stay in DC.

While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in Washington this week to see President Obama, meet with congressional leaders and think tanks, he and his wife Sara made time for a little R&R while they were in town.

On Tuesday night, the Netanyahus stopped at Georgetown’s Fiola Mare, unannounced, according to a report by The Washington Post. The Italian seafood restaurant sits on the waterfront off of K Street NW in Georgetown.

The eatery has attracted the Obamas, the Bidens, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. On Tuesday night, “the security was iron clad, the stiffest they’ve ever seen,” a source told the newspaper.

On Wednesday night, The Art League in Alexandria tweeted that the two were spotted at Chart House in Alexandria, also a waterfront restaurant that serves seafood, at 1 Cameron St.

Presumably the prime minister, 66, and his wife, 57, stopped in Alexandria after returning from a visit to Mount Vernon earlier in the day. A photo of the two pausing for a photo at Mount Vernon, with the Potomac River in the background, was posted to his Twitter account Wednesday:
