King Street Metro-Mark Center Express Bus To Be Discontinued

DASH will continue the regular service between the King Street Metro and Mark Center but will eliminate express service.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — DASH Bus is set to discontinue an express bus route between the King Street Metro and Mark Center on Wednesday.

Effective Dec. 1, Line 102X will no longer run. This was a contracted express service for the Department of Defense with no stops between the King Street Metro and the Mark Center.

Line 102, which also runs between these locations, will not be impacted. Line 102, which includes other stops such as Southern Towers and Alexandria Hospital, runs on weekdays every 30 minutes during peak service and every hour other times.

Other service tweaks will take effect on Sunday, Dec. 5. On Line 35, DASH will add three additional weekday northbound trips to the Pentagon in the early morning. Line 35 serves the Van Dorn Street Metro, Yoakum Parkway and Beauregard Street.

DASH will also make minor changes to the timetables on certain routes to improve reliability. This impacts Line 31/Old Town Circulator, Line 33, Line 34, Line 35, Line 36A and Line 36B.

DASH Bus service is fare free as of Sept. 5 due to funding from the fiscal year 2022 budget approved by City Council. Alexandria's bus system also launched its updated bus network to meet current and future transit ridership needs.
