Las Vegas Mass Shooting: Vigil For Victims In Alexandria

On Monday night, Ralph Northam and community members will hold a vigil in Alexandria for the victims of the Las Vegas shooting.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—With at least 58 dead and hundreds more injured, the Las Vegas shooting late Sunday has become the most deadly mass shooting in recent history. The shooting has resurfaced the gun control debate, and locals in Alexandria are making their voices be heard.

On Monday, Oct, 2, at 8 p.m., Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, a gun control group, will hold a vigil at Market Square in Alexandria. 301 King Street.

Gubernatorial candidate and Lieutenant Gov. Ralph Northam will attend, along with Alexandria's state Sen. Adam Ebbin.

The event will mourn the victims killed and recognize those injured and affected by the tragedy. According to the group, "organizers of the vigil hope that it will be a chance for those who are grieving to come together to comfort one another and find a way forward."

Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and Capt. Mark Kelly, who run a gun control group called Americans for Responsible Solutions, were set to campaign for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ralph Northam in Alexandria Monday, but they cancelled in light of the Las Vegas shooting.
