Man Found Dead Near Alexandria Hospital Tied To DC Navy Yard Shooting

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The man found dead in the Inova Alexandria Hospital parking lot was linked to a shooting in D.C.'s Navy Yard, according to police.

Alexandria Police responded around 3:03 a.m. Wednesday to the hospital at 4320 Seminary Road for a report of a man with gunshot wounds lying outside an entrance. Hospital staff attempted life-saving measures, but the man died of his injuries.

Police determined the shooting occurred at 88 K Street SE in Washington, DC. Metropolitan Police in D.C. had responded around 2:26 a.m. Wednesday to the unit block of K Street for gunshots. Officers encountered a crime scene but not any victims.

Detectives were notified of a victim at a local hospital and determined he was shot in the unit block of K Street. He was identified as Michael Sebastian, 31, of Southeast, DC.
