Mia’s Italian Kitchen To Take Place Of Carluccio's In Alexandria

The restaurant group that runs The Majestic and Lena's has signed a lease at 100 King Street, the former site of Carluccio's.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria Restaurant Partners have signed a lease to open a restaurant called Mia's Italian Kitchen at 100 King Street, the former site of Carluccio's, Alexandria Times reports.

Alexandria Restaurant Partners principal Scott Shaw and business partner Dave Nicholas plan on opening the space as Mia's Italian Kitchen in January 2018. The restaurant group owns Vola’s Dockside Grill & Hi-Tide Lounge and The Majestic, while running Virtue Feed & Grain and Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap.

The inspiration for the restaurant will come from Nicholas' grandmother from Naples, Italy, who he spent summers with growing up. Mia's will feature Italian favorites such as freshly-made pastas, Sicilian-style pizza, sandwiches, and the giant meatball—a popular offering at Lena's.
