New Bubble Tea Shop Planned Near Caphe Banh Mi In Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Yagút St, a bubble tea brand, is expanding to its second location in Old Town Alexandria.

The business is applying for a special use permit from city government at 411 Cameron Street, which is adjacent to Vietnamese restaurant Caphe Banh Mi. The other Yagút St location is at 682 N. St. Asaph Street with Sunday in Saigon. Yagút St comes from the same owners behind Caphe Banh Mi and Sunday in Saigon, according to its website.

According to the special use permit application, the business will serve non-alcoholic drinks and gelato. Yagút St's menu at Sunday in Saigon includes milk teas, brewed teas, icy blended drinks, coffee, tea and more specialty drinks. Bubble tea drinks have the option of toppings such as tapioca pearls, different types of boba, jellies, and popping boba.

Proposed hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The business expects around 200 customers per day.

Public comments on the application will be accepted through Sept. 1 by email or calling the city's planning and zoning at 703-746-4666.
