ALEXANDRIA, VA — Vice President Mike Pence was in Alexandria Thursday to deliver personal protective equipment from FEMA. Pence unloaded boxes in front of Woodbine Rehabilitation Healthcare Center before giving marks along with other officials.

"This is one installment of deliveries that will go from FEMA to 15,400 nursing homes across the country," said Pence in remarks. "The president wanted me to be here today and to help deliver these gowns, and gloves and supplies, and it's the first of two installments that'll be delivered literally across the country."

The delivery was the first of 63 million, 14 million masks, 13 million gowns and 1 million eye protection pieces going out through the end of June, according to Rear Adm. John Polowczyk, who leads FEMA's supply chain task force. Each shipment provides a seven-day supply.
