UPDATE: Man Found Dead In Alexandria Hospital Tied To DC's Navy Yard Shooting

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A person was found dead in the parking lot of Inova Alexandria Hospital early Wednesday, according to Alexandria Police.

Police responded around 3:03 a.m. Wednesday to the hospital at 4320 Seminary Road for a report of a man with gunshot wounds lying outside an entrance. Hospital staff attempted life-saving measures, but the man died of his injuries.

The man's identity was not immediately released. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to confirm the cause and manner of death.

Detectives believe a 2008 Mercedes Benz C class may have been tied to the incident. The vehicle is described as a dark gray, four-door vehicle with Virginia tag RX22K. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call 911 or their local police department.
