Police Identify Suspects in Armed Bank Robbery

The two men, each age 40 years old and residents of Alexandria, were apprehended in the 2400 block of Mainline Boulevard.

The Alexandria Police Department has arrested two suspects, both residents of the City, in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at the PNC Bank in the 800 block of N. Washington Street in Alexandria.

Around 9:58 a.m. on Tuesday, two suspects entered the bank and each brandished a handgun, according to police. The suspects demanded money before leaving the bank, police said. No one was injured.

The suspects were subsequently apprehended by Alexandria Police Officers in the 2400 block of Mainline Boulevard, about 1.2 miles away from the bank. Police did not say whether the men were on foot or took transportation to Mainline Boulevard from the bank.

Maurice Womack, 40, a City resident, was charged with Robbery. Darrell Waller, 40, a City resident, was charged with Robbery and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
