Police Investigating Armed Robbery Thursday Night at Donut Shop in Alexandria

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating an armed robbery Thursday night of the Dunkin’ Donuts shop at the Shoppes of Foxchase shopping center on Duke Street, according to an alert sent out by police at 10:20 p.m.

Police did not say what kind of weapon was displayed during the robbery or give a description of the suspect or suspects.

The shop, located at 4653 Duke St., has been robbed in the past, in October 2012. That was a daytime robbery at gunpoint, caught on surveillance video that was released by police.

No one was injured in the robbery Thursday night, police said. Police say to expect activity in the area.
