Police Looking for Robbers Who Stole Car and Cash
Overall, robberies are down by 30 percent in Alexandria compared with 2016, say police.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Alexandria police are investigating two robberies over the weekend in which the bandits stole cash and a car, according to a police statement.
There were no injuries reported in the two robberies, the police said. The first heist took place at about 8:07 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Slaters Lane, when two robbers brandished a firearm and stole a white 2010 Nissan Altima from the victim.
The second robbery occurred at about 11 p.m. Sunday night. Three suspects in masks brandished a firearm and stole cash from a business in the 5400 block of Duke Street, the police said.

In a post on its Facebook page, the Police Department said that robberies typically increase when the weather warms up, but currently, robberies are down by 30 percent at this time of year compared with 2016.
