Professor Guilty Of Vandalizing NRA Lobbyist's Alexandria Home

The sociology professor from Nebraska was found guilty of vandalizing the home with fake blood.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—A professor from Nebraska was found guilty Monday of vandalizing National Rifle Association lobbyist Chris Cox's Alexandria home with fake blood. Patricia Hill, a sociology professor, was accused of spraying fake in front of the home during a protest in January.

Hill will pay a $500 fine, not contact the Cox family, and stay 500 feet away from the home, The Washington Post reported. She also faces a temporary restraining order keeping her away Cox’s wife’s workplace and from NRA offices in Virginia and DC. The same day, she was served with another vandalism charge from another incident in October.

Cox testified in Alexandria General District Court that his two young kids were at home on Jan. 11 when the "blood-like substance was sprayed all over our front steps." A security guard testifying in court identified Hill as the person appearing on surveillance video and spraying the substance.

Hill's attorney says she plans to appeal, citing doubt about the security guard's identification of Hill on a dark and rainy night.
