Rainbow Is Sign Of Good Fortune In Alexandria Man's Lottery Win
Do you believe in lucky symbols? An Alexandria man saw a rainbow and ended up winning a top lottery prize.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — It was a sign in the sky that led an Alexandria man to play the Virginia lottery and score a top prize.
“I saw a rainbow in the sky. I thought, ‘It’s a beautiful day. I think I’ll play the lottery tonight.'" Ali Darrar told Virginia Lottery officials.
The next day, Darrar found out his ticket matched the five winning numbers in the Cash 5 game, earning him the $100,000 top prize. He chose the numbers 1-8-15-17-31 on his ticket using family birthdays.

"I just felt lucky," he told Virginia Lottery officials as he claimed his prize. "I just had a weird feeling."
Darrar, who used to be a small business owner, bought the winning ticket at Global Food, 1476 North Beauregard Street in Alexandria for the July 28 drawing. He plans on saving his winnings.

Cash 5 drawings are held daily at 1:59 p.m. and 11 p.m. The odds of winning the $100,000 top prize like Darrar did are 1 in 278,256.
