Remembering 9/11: Alexandria Hosts Ceremony
Alexandria residents paid tribute to 9/11 victims at a ceremony with city officials and first responders.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—As citizens across the nation mark Sept. 11 Monday, Alexandria will paid tribute to the victims and first responders on the solemn occasion.
The city's 9/11 ceremony happened 10 a .m. Monday at Market Square (301 King Street). Mayor Allison Silberberg and members of the Alexandria Police Department, Fire Department, and Sheriff’s Office will attend. The tribute to the lost lives and heroes will include a “Return to Quarters” bell-ringing ceremony.
"The event will honor those who died, and pay tribute to those who responded without fear, acted without hesitation, and gave their lives to save others," the city said in a statement.

Ahead of 9/11 Remembrance Day, Alexandria's first responders paid tribute to the victims during "Heroes Day" at the Washington Nationals game and ran in Arlington's 9/11 Memorial 5 K.
