ALEXANDRIA, VA—Another dining concept has been announced for the Robinson Landing mixed-use development along the Alexandria waterfront. Developer EYA, LLC announced builder Murray Bonitt will renovate and open a market and restaurant at the foot of Duke Street.

"We are thrilled to announce that Robinson Landing’s 10 Duke Street warehouse building will be renovated to operate a market and restaurant by Alexandria’s Murray Bonitt, a custom builder who specializes in historic preservation through adaptive re-use," said EYA Vice President Evan Goldman in a statement. "This fulfills our plans for commercial space at Robinson Landing and further delivers on the city’s vision to develop and activate the southern anchor of Old Town’s waterfront."

Murray Bonitt is known for repurposing the warehouse that is now Virtue Feed and Grain as well as The Majestic. The first floor of the renovated 10 Duke Street building will become a market with coffee, pastries, prepared foods, beer and wine. The rest will be set aside for a casual restaurant.

This was the last commercial space the developer had to fill at Robinson Landing. Other dining concepts were approved by City Council in March. Alexandria Restaurant Partners will run an upscale restaurant, café, and pier dining area.

The development will have 26 townhomes, 70 condominiums, dining, retail, a waterfront promenade and pier. EYA, LLC announced earlier in the spring that nearly half of the townhouses are completed or already occupied. The three condominium buildings are under construction. The entire project is expected to be completed in 2020.
