Several Alexandria Metro Stations Closed For Jan. 26-27 Weekend
If you're traveling on Metro this weekend, expect to use shuttle buses at five closed stations.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Several Yellow and Blue Line Metro stations will be closed the weekend of Jan. 26-27 around Alexandria. Metro will be installing cable and communication equipment to support cell phone service in tunnels.
The closed stations include Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street, King Street, Huntington and Eisenhower Avenue. On the Blue Line, trains will run every 20 minutes between Braddock Road and Largo Town Center. Shuttle buses replace trains between Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street, King Street and Braddock Road.
Yellow Line trains will run every 20 minutes between Braddock Road and Mount Vernon Square. Shuttle buses replace trains between Huntington, Eisenhower Avenue, King Street and Braddock Road.

Riders should plan for an additional half hour of travel if using shuttle buses.
Metro also announced the closure of Alexandria stations for track work on the weekend of March 2-3. The Braddock Road, King Street, Eisenhower Avenue, Van Dorn Street, Franconia-Springfield and Huntington stations will be closed.

Officials are finalizing mitigation plans for upcoming shutdown of stations between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Riders can begin to consider their alternatives to Metrorail.
