Small Business Saturday Bigger Than Ever In Alexandria

Live music, shopping and fun activities made for the biggest Small Business Saturday to date in Alexandria.

From the Visit Alexandria: Small Business Saturday on November 25, 2017 was bigger than ever in the D.C. region’s Shop Small headquarters—Alexandria, Virginia—where more than 50 independently owned boutiques in Old Town Alexandria and Del Ray offered special in-store activities.

New this year, shoppers were treated to free parking at parking meters, a Santa Stroll on King Street that kicked off with caroling from The Alexandria Singers and a special solo from the region’s most beloved Santa prior to a bagpipe performance, a postcard pop-up from new paper goods boutique Penny Post, plus live music, shopping and activities at the Torpedo Factory Art Center including a free gift wrapping station from Safe Space NOVA and NOVA Pride.

Returning was the Elf Prize Patrol and holiday caroling from the Alexandria Singers. Small Business Saturday was part of a weekend of “Shop Small” festivities in Alexandria that included an alternative Black Friday experience and first-ever Museum Store Sunday. Alexandria’s Small Business Saturday was a partnership of Visit Alexandria, the City of Alexandria, the Alexandria Small Business Development Center, the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, the Old Town Boutique District and the Del Ray Business Association.
