Suicidal Person On Bridge Rescued In Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria authorities rescued a suicidal person at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Friday night.

Authorities responded around 8:30 p.m. at the area of Route 1 and the bridge on the Capital Beltway, according to the Alexandria Fire Department dispatch. The subject was soon located and was reported safe with police.

Alexandria Police say the person has been taken to the hospital to receive mental health assistance.

Authorities have begun clearing the area as of 9:15 p.m. No further details are available at this time.
