Support the Beagle Freedom Project on Saturday

The beagles are in Alexandria this weekend!

Please join us at the first annual Red, White & Beagle fundraiser which will take place at River Farm in Alexandria this Saturday, July 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This event, which will include a silent auction and dinner, will benefit the Beagle Freedom Project, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to give beagles and other animals used in laboratory testing a chance at life after research and promote cruelty-free alternatives to animal testing. All attendees will receive swag bags with cruelty-free products and doggie-related items from our event sponsors.

Red, White & Beagle is hosted by what has come to be known as the Beagle Freedom Project’s DC7 -- a group of fosters and adopters who brought home 7 beagles from a laboratory rescue in Virginia in July 2013. These 7 beagles, named after our Founding Fathers, had spent their whole lives in research labs and had never walked on grass, marked a fire hydrant or played in a park! They are now living all around the east coast, and it’s amazing the progress they’ve made in two years.

Dr. Katy Nelson of the Pet Show on News Channel 8 will serve as the emcee and we’ll have two special guest speakers. We will tantalize your taste buds with our yummy menu from Elizabeth’s Gone Raw and dessert from Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats. We will quench your thirst with beer from Heritage Brewing and Dogfish Head Beer. Wine drinker? Chateau Morrisette Winery has you covered. We’ll also have a special Red, White & Beagle drink featuring Tito’s Handmade Vodka and True Tonics. Not a drinker? Runningbyrd Tea Company has some unique and delicious ice teas that are perfect for a summer evening.
