Tall Ship Providence Undergoes Work, Returns Labor Day Weekend
You may have noticed the tall ship is gone from the Alexandria waterfront. It'll be back and could open to the public soon afterward.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — If you saw Tall Ship Providence gone from the Alexandria waterfront over the weekend, don't fret. It will be back once it undergoes electrical work.
According to the Tall Ship Providence Foundation, the ship went to Norfolk for the work. That was where the foundation could find naval marine electricians to perform the needed work. As of Monday, the ship safely arrived at Norfolk.
Progress report: Providence arrived in Norfolk less than an hour ago, safe and sound. Crew member Emma B. sent us this beautiful photo she took at sunset last night. Gorgeous! pic.twitter.com/7qwmnMjfmX

The work is expected to be done in two weeks, and Tall Ship Providence will sail back into Alexandria by Labor Day weekend (Aug. 31-Sept. 2). The foundation aims at opening the ship to the public shortly afterward.
