Tattoo Parlor inq Opens In Old Town Alexandria

The new business looks different from your typical tattoo parlor, aiming to make customers comfortable when getting a tattoo done.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Old Town is now home to a tattoo parlor. The business, inq Old Town, announced its opening on Tuesday, July 30 at 1011 King Street.

According to its website, inq aims at "disrupting the tattoo industry with a number of high-end boutiques that focus on clean design, transparency, and a customer-first philosophy." In other words, the shop wants customers to feel safe, even if they've felt uncomfortable in other tattoo parlors. The shop is designed to have a spa-like feel, and tattoo artists use premium vegan ink and sterile, single-use equipment.

The service starts with design consultation, where customers bring in their ideas, look through the shop's selections or work with the tattoo artist on a custom design. Once the design is set, customers make an appointment to have the tattoo done. Tattoos and design services start at $175 per hour. Other services include an ink allergy skin test and temporary tattoos without needles.
