Tickets on Sale for Arcadia Fall Harvest Dinner at Woodlawn

Proceeds go to Veteran Farmer Program. Also see information below about another special fundraiser on Sept. 13.

Mark your calendars for Sept. 20, for one of the area’s favorite seasonal events: Arcadia’s Fall Harvest Dinner at the Woodlawn Mansion.

The Fall Harvest Dinner is one of the most important annual fundraisers for Arcadia’s Veteran Farmer Training Program--an initiative Chef William Morris and others at Vermilion are proud to support.

This year, Chef Morris will be joined by an all-star lineup of local, talented chefs including:

Each chef will prepare a different dish for the five-course dinner featuring the freshest produce the region has to offer–much of it grown at Arcadia’s farm. The evening will begin with passed canapes and cocktails at the Woodlawn Mansion at 4:30 p.m., followed by the seated dinner at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $175 per person and are available now through Eventbrite. Organizers note that 100 percent of the proceeds from the dinner go to the Veteran Farmer Program.

Also, mark your calendar for Sept. 13, for a special fundraiser. Here are the details, from Vermilion:

On Sunday, September 13th, we invite you to join us at Vermilion for a very special evening dedicated to raising money for one of our staff members, Forrest, as he wages a battle with cancer that has rendered him unable to work.

In 2009, Forrest joined our team as a respected Sous Chef and quickly became a part of our Vermilion family. Earlier this year, doctors found that Forrest’s brain cancer had returned. Because another surgery isn’t a viable option, Forrest is currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy. The tumor has responded to the treatment, but not without side effects that make it impossible for Forrest to work.

We are raising money for Forrest and his family through an event on Sunday, September 13 at 5 PM at Vermilion. In addition to live music, good food, drink and fun, servers will be donating their tips and proceeds from a silent auction and giveaways will benefit the fund. We hope you can join us, but if not please consider a donation--every little bit helps and we sincerely appreciate it: http://gofundme.com/4Forrest.
