Traffic Advisory: Road Closure This Weekend for Art Festival in Alexandria

Heads up, Alexandria: This weekend is the King Street Art Festival, a fun event set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

King Street will be closed between Washington Street and Union Street (see Google map) while the event is in progress and no cross traffic will be permitted, according to the Alexandria Police Department. Drivers are asked to please be patient and avoid driving in the area if possible.

Cross streets will be open overnight. Private security will be on sight Saturday night into Sunday morning. The 100 block of N. St. Asaph Street will be closed off for public safety vehicles. The Market Square farmer’s market will be active Saturday morning and will close at 12:30 p.m.
