Virginia 2018 Primary Election: Candidates, Deadlines, More
The primary election is coming up. See what's on your ballot and how to prepare for the June 12 primary.

Virginia voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, June 12 for the 2018 primary election. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. as voters select the candidates to represent their parties in the Nov. 6 general election.
Because voters are not registered by party in Virginia, they can either participate in the Democratic or Republican primaries. Primaries are held when candidates opposed in their parties.
Party nominees for several U.S. House of Representatives seats are up for grabs, as well as the nominees for Tim Kaine's Senate seat. Local primary races include Alexandria Mayor and City Council and the Arlington County Board.
