Waterfront Operations Update

All Parks

  • New trash cans have arrived to replace damaged and older cans in several parks. The installation of these cans will take place over the next few months.

Founders Park

Find out what's happening in Old Town Alexandriafor free with the latest updates from Patch.

  • Installation of Dry Well systems to improve the drainage in the Dog Park and the South-West end of the park. This work is scheduled to be done this week or next.

  • Installation of bench pads is scheduled for Monday July 8 between Founders Park and the City Marina. Benches will be installed during the week.

Montgomery Park

  • The dog park and tennis courts are now open for use. There may still be touch up work in both areas that may result is sections being temporarily closed.

Oronoco Bay Park

  • Installation of Dry Well systems to improve the drainage in the low area at the South end of the park.

  • Windmill Hill Park

    • Installation of Dry Well systems to improve the drainage in the dog park, near the south end of the park (West of Union Street) and where the trail turns into Shipyard Park. This work is scheduled to be done this week or next.

    • Spraying and removal of weeds will continue above Wilkes Street Tunnel and begin on the slope adjacent to the house on the South end of the park.
