
Why is the sky blue?
According to NASA, though the light from the sun looks white, it is actually composed of every color of the rainbow. Light travels in waves, but its colors have different wave lengths. Blue light has the shortest wave lengths, and these short blue waves are scattered more in all directions when they come in contact with particles and gases in Earth’s atmosphere, giving the sky its blue color.
