• Powhatan Department of Social Services looking for foster families (wric.com) — Powhatan County’s Department of Social Services is actively seeking local families willing to foster children and especially teenagers, and outlines who can qualify. There are no restrictions based on marital status, home ownership, race, religion, or sexual orientation, and starting an online inquiry is not a commitment. Interested residents can expect DSS to follow up and guide them through the approval process.
