343K People In VA Without Power Due To Winter Storm: Updated
Monday morning's winter storm brought high winds and heavy snow to Northern Virginia, knocking down power lines across the region.

FAIRFAX, VA — Monday's winter storm left much of Virginia blanketed in snow. During the storm, high winds and heavy snowfall knocked down utility poles and power lines, leaving many communities without power.
Although no new snow was falling, 343,793 in Virginia were still without power at 8:45 p.m., according to PowerOutage.US. That was down from the 442,652 people who were without power at 2:07 p.m.

Here are the number of people who were without power at 8:45 p.m. in Northern Virginia:
- Arlington County - 1,269
- Fairfax City - 2,142
- Fairfax County - 26,313
- Loudoun County - 1
- Prince William - 20,805
- Stafford County - 43,269
In Northern Virginia, Dominion Energy work crews were working on 2,159 projects shortly before 9 p.m. to restore power to 182,001 customers.

Dominion customers can report an outage, downed lines or emergency by calling 866-366-4357
Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department reminded residents to be on the lookout for power lines that have been brought down by heavy wind and snow.
For safety reasons, the public is advised to consider any downed power lines to be live and to be treated with caution.
