'Art In Motion' Exhibit On Display At Reston Art Gallery
Reston Art Gallery and Studios show highlights mobiles created by architect and artist Wayne Schiffelbein in 'Art In Motion' Exhibit.

RESTON, VA —Reston Art Gallery and Studios (RAGS) will be showcasing the Calder-esque works of architect and artist Wayne Schiffelbein on weekends through Aug. 1, as part of the featured show “Art In Motion," according to a release.
Schiffelbein first developed his interest in mobiles and stabiles as a student and during his career in architecture. This interest led him to a new career as a sculptor of fine art objects. His mobiles of colored aluminum and glass, balanced with stainless steel in a contemporary style, were inspired by a 1964 visit to a Guggenheim Museum exhibit featuring Alexander Calder’s work.
“It was an unforgettable experience,” Schiffelbein said. “I spent hours observing and moving among the various mobiles which were hanging everywhere in that very dynamic exhibition space.”
