Attempted Sexual Assault Charge Filed Against Reston Man: Police
A Reston man was arrested after he tried to sexually assault a victim in their bedroom, but the victim fought back, police say.

RESTON, VA — A 43-year-old Reston man is facing multiple charges, including stalking, in connection to an attempted sexual assault in a Reston on Wednesday, according to Fairfax County Police.
Officers responded around 5:26 a.m. for the report of an attempted sexual assault in an apartment complex near. Charter Oak Court Road. A preliminary investigation revealed that a man entered an apartment through a window of a bedroom where the victim was sleeping, according to police. After the victim fought off the man, they contacted police and was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
With the help of the police department's helicopter and K9 unit, officers found and arrested the suspect nearby, who was identified as Hugo Argueta Vasquez. During his apprehension, Argueta Vasquez received a K9 bite and was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators determined that Argueta Vasquez had unlawfully entered the same apartment complex on Dec. 3, 2023, and tried to sexually assault another victim, according to the police report. Like the victim in Wednesday's case, the victim fought off Vasquez, who fled the scene. The victim in the 2023 case was not injured.
After being taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, Argueta Vasquez was charged with two counts of burglary with intent to commit a felony and stalking. He was then held without bond.
