Closures And Cancellations: What's Open And Closed In Fairfax County On Tuesday

Fairfax County has announced which facilities will be opened and closed on Tuesday and which programs will be canceled.

FAIRFAX, VA — A day after the season's first heavy snowstorm blanketed the region, Fairfax County will reopen for business at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

County employees will be granted unscheduled leave and those who are eligible to telework will be expected to work as usual. Employees who are designated as emergency personnel are expected to report as scheduled.

Although the Herrity Building will reopen at 10 a.m., there will be no in-person meetings available. Staff will be available for phone calls and emails. They will also continue to process applications and plan reviews. The main telephone line for the Site Development and Inspections Division (SDID) will not be available until 10 a.m. Due to the late start, some inspections may be rescheduled.

On Monday afternoon, Fairfax County Public Schools announced that classes would be canceled on Tuesday, delaying the return of students to their schools for the second day in a row.
