📰 News we're reading

• Reston residents raise concerns about data center construction noise and lights (wusa9.com) — Residents on Cocquina Drive in Reston say nonstop drilling, late-night work, and bright construction lights from a nearby CoreSite data center expansion are making it nearly impossible to relax at home. Although new Fairfax County rules now require 200-foot setbacks, neighbors were told this project was approved earlier, and officials are scrambling to reduce noise and lighting impacts.

• True Food Kitchen closes Reston restaurant, still open in Merrifield (ffxnow.com) — True Food Kitchen has permanently closed its Reston Town Center restaurant after more than five years, following a bankruptcy filing that shuttered 12 locations nationwide. The Reston spot on Democracy Drive served its last meals Sunday, while nearby locations in Merrifield and Ballston remain open as the company restructures under Chapter 11 protection.

• Best Residential/Hospitality: JW Marriott Reston Station (enr.com) — A major new 20‑story JW Marriott tower at Reston Station is bringing nearly 250 hotel rooms and more than 90 condos, plus a bar, restaurant, ballroom, and gym to the neighborhood. Locals can expect a striking glass-and-metal façade, high‑end stone finishes, and significant new hospitality and residential capacity right on the Metro corridor.
