Police ID Suspect and Vehicle in Reston Hit and Run
Charges have not yet been placed. Local mom was hit and has undergone emergency surgery for organ damage, fractured leg, broken elbow.

It looks like there is a break in the hit and run on Reston Parkway that sent a local mother to the hospital Sunday night with serious injuries.
Fairfax County Police have identified a suspect and a suspect vehicle, FCPD spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said Friday in an email.
Police were looking for the driver of a red sedan that was heading south on the parkway and did not stop.

Detectives are actively investigating the case and charges have not yet been placed, she noted.
The woman who was hit Sunday has undergone emergency surgery for organ damage, a fractured right leg and a broken and dislocated elbow after being struck by a car on Reston Parkway Sunday night at about 6:30 p.m., according to a report by RestonNow.com.

Over the past three years, more than 400 pedestrians have been struck and injured in crashes on Fairfax County roadways. Last year, eight pedestrians died in Fairfax County.
