RESTON, VA — Representatives from the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Development will be presenting the draft of the Reston Comprehensive Plan Amendment to the Board of Supervisors' land-use committee during its meeting on Tuesday.

St. Clair Williams, the senior planner with DPD's Urban Centers Section, and DPD Director Chris Caperton will be presenting the draft plan to committee members.

Reston residents have had the opportunity to provide feedback on the draft plan at various public meetings in September. They have until Oct. 28 to provide feedback on the plan before the Fairfax County Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors vote on it later this year.

Back in January 2020, Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcorn kicked off the process to review the county plan that governs land use for Reston. A 31-member task force charged with reviewing the plan met over the next year and a half and released their initial recommendations last April. Once the task force released its final report at the end of August, the public review process began.

The land-use committee meeting is scheduled for 1-3:30 p.m., in conference room 11, at the Fairfax County Government Center, which is located at 12000 Government Center Parkway.
