Reston Multicultural Festival Kicks Off Saturday
Get dressed up and enjoy a day of music and food at Lake Anne Plaza.

RESTON, VA — The Reston Multicultural Festival is almost here, so get ready to dress in your (or your ancestors') native garb this Saturday at Lake Anne Plaza.
The free festival will take place rain or shine from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sept. 24, beginning with a Festival Welcome followed by a Naturalization Ceremony where Reston locals will complete the process to become U.S. citizens, according to a statement.
There will be live music, including performances by blues musical group The Sherman Holmes Project and by Irish accordion player Bill McComiskey. Also, there will be arts and crafts, a global market with "treasures from around the world," and even a Kimono fashion show.

The festival encourages everyone to dress in attire that represents their own cultural backgrounds, so don't be afraid to rock the kilt or sari or whatever recalls your heritage.
"The Reston Multicultural Festival is a celebration of the diversity and community spirit that are found in Reston," according to a statement. "This annual event brings together the people of Reston to celebrate our rich medley of cultures."
