About the Author:
Steve Parke is an award-winning illustrator, designer, and photographer. He worked for Prince for 13 years as his in-house art director at Paisley Park. He’s also worked with many other artists, both as a photographer and a designer of numerous album covers and promotional materials and merchandise. He is currently a photographer and photo editor for Enchanted Living Magazine and is working on a book photo project for Simon & Schuster written by Alice Hoffman.
Prince discovered Paul Peterson, aka “St Paul,” at the age of 17, enlisting him as a keyboard player in “The Time” for the movie “Purple Rain.” Paul took the lead vocalist spot in the Prince-produced group “The Family” before becoming a solo artist.
He currently tours with his band, "St Paul and the Minneapolis Funk All Stars," consisting of musicians and producers who helped to create the Minneapolis Sound.
