Henrico County is also hosting a low-cost rabies vaccination clinic for pets on October 17 at the Western Henrico Government Center, giving nearby Richmond residents an accessible way to stay protected.

Police Shoot Man Accused Of Holding Wife Hostage In Richmond Apartment: Report (patch.com) — Richmond residents should know police shot and wounded a man Friday night after he allegedly held his wife hostage in an apartment on Southwood Parkway. Officers say the man pulled a semi-automatic pistol as they tried to arrest him, and he now faces potential charges related to the firearm and domestic abduction while investigators review whether he fired.

GWAR Co-Founder Chuck Varga, aka Sexecutioner, Dies at 68 (rvamag.com) — Richmond's music community is mourning Chuck Varga, the artist and performer behind GWAR's Sexecutioner character, who has died at 68 after a battle with cancer. Varga helped found Slave Pit Studios in Richmond, shaping the band's outrageous visual style before later moving to New York but remaining closely tied to the city's punk and metal scene.
