Deep cleaning, air quality testing continue at Bellevue Elementary over weekend (nbc12.com) — Families at Richmond's Bellevue Elementary are waiting to see if deep cleaning and air quality work will make the school safe to reopen by Tuesday after mold and moisture problems closed the building. Over 13,000 Central Virginia homes, businesses without power due to storms (wric.com) — Hundreds of Richmond homes and businesses are among more than 13,000 Dominion Energy customers across Central Virginia who lost power after Friday night's severe thunderstorms. RACC Tommie Fund running dry, shelter seeks donations: 'Word is getting out' (foxrichmond.com) — Richmond Animal Care and Control is asking city residents to help refill its Tommie Fund, the emergency medical fund for injured animals that's been nearly depleted after helping shelters across Virginia. With license plate revenue not arriving until late September, RACC hopes to raise about $10,000 more so it can keep saying yes when local and statewide animals need lifesaving care.
