Southampton Rehab & Healthcare Launches Cardiac Rehab Program in Richmond, Va.

Respected Clinician Leading Specialty Care Initiative

Southampton Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Richmond has introduced CardioPro, a specialized cardiac rehabilitation care program, under the direction of Agha W. Haider, MD. Located at 7246 Forest Hills Avenue, the skilled nursing center provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.  

CardioPro focuses on reducing symptoms and decreasing disability in heart patients. Services are designed to assist individuals suffering from challenging or life-threatening heart conditions, including those recovering from a cardiac event or surgical procedure, and those at risk for cardiovascular disease. Dr. Haider is board certified in cardiovascular disease. He is affiliated with HCA Virginia’s Levinson Heart Institute at Chippenham Hospital and maintains a local practice, Dominion Cardiovascular Specialists.

“Southampton’s CardioPro aims to improve outcomes for all cardiac patients in their care,” said Megan Shilling, regional vice president of market development, Virginia, at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports Southampton. “The Southampton team is pleased to welcome Dr. Haider to lead this new program. He is well respected in the region for his clinical expertise and warm manner.”

All specialized clinical initiatives at Southampton are designed to meet area healthcare demand. The CardioPro model, available to Marquis-serviced skilled nursing clients, is a clinician-led collaboration with the center’s multidisciplinary care team, supporting whole-person wellness as patients work to maximize their strength and independence. Patients benefit from consults with board-certified specialists, a customized treatment plan with advanced therapies and technologies, nutrition counseling, and patient and caregiver education. Care is coordinated from pre-admission through discharge and transition home, with a central goal to reduce hospital re-admission.
