Best Of 2025: Ravel Dance Company Celebrated For Nutcracker Tradition In Sterling

Sterling, VA — Every community has its bright spots — the neighbors, businesses and local favorites that make it feel like home. As 2025 comes to a close, Patch and T-Mobile are recognizing the people, places and moments that made this year brighter in Sterling through our Best of 2025 series.

Who or what are you nominating for Best of 2025?

Ravel Dance Company

How did this person, place or experience make a difference in your life or community this year?

The company had 140 students perform their Nutcracker ballet at Capital One Hall and the Reston Community Center Stage influencing the lives of these performers through this experience and spreading joy to the local community of audience members.

What would you like everyone in town to know about your nominee?

Their Nutcracker ballet has been in the making for nearly 20 years. It takes a great deal of time to build a ballet. This year they have arrived as one of the premiere productions with extravagant costumes and elaborate sets not to mentioned polished choreography.

If you could tell them one thing, what would it be?

Thank you for never giving up on the dream of bringing this tradition back to Reston.

What’s something you love most about your town or community?

The Reston Community Center offers so much to so many from the performing arts with dance and the Reston orchestra to the many activities and classes.
