Chesterbrook Academy® Preschoolers Donate to Children with Cancer

Summer campers at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Aldie recently donated $500 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), a nonprofit working to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. To raise money for the organization, students created art that was included in the school’s fundraising raffle and collected pennies for the society’s Pennies for Patients program.

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond. Teachers work with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
