An interfaith service project of creating fleece blankets for Syrian refugees was conducted during the Martin Luther King holiday weekend at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Road in Oakton, VA.
Thirty UUCF members hosted a similar number of Muslim guests from the Institute of Islamic and Turkish Studies of Fairfax for an afternoon of blanket-making, followed by a delicious halal meal.
It was a great way for people to come together to help in a humanitarian project.
