Thanksgiving Crime Ring Busted At Tysons Corner Center
Police busted four suspects that fraudulently took $29K in items from Tysons Corner Center.

TYSONS CORNER, VA—Fairfax County Police are extra vigilant looking for thieves at the mall during the holiday season. And they got off to a busy start to the season after busting a retail crime ring at Tysons Corner Center over Thanksgiving weekend.
Police say they've arrested four suspects believed to have fraudulently taken over $29,000 in items from at least 13 different stores.
Investigations have revealed the suspects are part of an organized group that steals from malls across the country. Glenis Brown, Aleisha Greenwood, Latasha Lawson and Stephanie Winter, all of New York, are facing 23 felony charges and three misdemeanor charges.

Officers patrol Tysons Corner Center, Tysons Galleria, Fair Oaks Mall and Springfield Town Center during the holiday season to catch these types of thieves. Last year, officers arrested 194 people for nearly 500 criminal offenses mostly in the Tysons Corner area. The team recovered items totaling around $110,000. In addition, $100,000 in merchandise was recovered in Fair Oaks, and 573 arrests, $39,000 in merchandise and $68,925 in seized money and vehicles in the Franconia District.
Overall, police had recovered $315,000 in stolen property and assets during the 2016 holiday season.
