Update: Missing 13-Year-Old From Fairfax Found

Update: A 13-year-old girl is missing from Fairfax and may be under emotional distress.

(Updated 11:14 a.m. Sunday) FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA --

A missing 13-year-old girl from Fairfax has been found safe in Charles County, Maryland. Police say she will be reunited with her family soon.

Sofia Cuellar Barrientos had been last seen May 10 at her Fairfax home. She appeared to be under emotional distress at the time.

Police have released photos and a description of Cuellar Barrientos. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and white Nike shoes. She is described as 5 feet tall, about 100 pounds and with has long dark hair and brown eyes. Barrientos may be in need of assistance and has been entered into the FBI's National Crime Information Center database as missing and endangered.

Anyone with information about the missing girl is asked to contact Detective S.N. Sykes at 703-246-7800 or Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131. Tips can also be submitted online through Crime Solvers or texted to “TIP187” to 274637.
