Third Person Dies After Fairfax House Fire

Three people have now died and another is injured after Tuesday's house fire in Fairfax.

FAIRFAX, VA—Three people are dead and one is injured after a house fire in Fairfax early Tuesday morning, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department says. The department announced Wednesday a third person has died. The two other people were confirmed dead on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Robert Glen Edmanson Sr.,63, Sandralee Edmanson,61, and Christina J. Minton, 56.

Approximately 30 Fairfax County Fire and Rescue firefighters and a number of medics responded to the 11400 block of Popes Head Road around 2 a.m., according to Battalion Chief Willie Bailey. Fire had been showing from all sides of the one-story, single family home.

As firefighters were tackling the blaze, they discovered the two deceased victims in the home. The victims, whose names have not been released, were an adult man and woman. Two other adults were taken to the hospital, one in critical condition and one with non-life-threatening injuries.

Fire investigators are continuing to identify the cause of the fire.
