2 People Trapped In Floodwaters Rescued In Tysons

The intersection of Besley Road and Old Courthouse Road was one of the roads flooded by heavy rains.

TYSONS, VA—Two people in a car got stuck in floodwaters Tuesday afternoon in the Tysons area following heavy rain.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said in a tweet the car got trapped in rising water at Besley Road and Old Courthouse Road. There were no injuries.

This wasn't the first time this intersection, located near a creek, has flooded during heavy rain this year. Officials remind residents to "turn around, don't drown," as just six inches of fast-moving water can knock over an adult and one foot could carry away a small car.
