2 Rescued From Floodwaters In Vienna Area: Fire Department

The two people were trapped in a car on a flooded road, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

WOLF TRAP, VA—Fairfax County Fire and Rescue helped two people trapped in floodwaters to safety early Sunday, Nov. 25.

Shortly after midnight, units responded to Browns Mill Road and Windstone Drive for a car on the flooded road. Two people had been trapped in the car when crews rescued them.

The pair was evaluated by EMS, but there were no injuries.

The region was under a flood warning Saturday night into early Sunday. National Weather Service forecasters warned of flooding in streams and poor drainage areas. Officials urge drivers to "turn around," don't drown when coming across a flooded road. Just six inches of fast-moving water can knock over an adult, and one foot can carry away a small car.
