2 Stolen Cars, 18 Other Car Break-Ins Reported To Vienna Police
Police are investigating numerous break-ins within a day, some of which included stolen items.
VIENNA, VA—Vienna saw a spike in car break-ins within one day, according to the new police department crime report. In all, police received reports of 18 car break-ins and two stolen vehicles.
All incidents happened between the night of May 24 and morning of May 25. Many of the vehicles had been unlocked. Police discovered three of the break-ins while investigating other break-ins.
The two cars that were stolen involved keys left inside. The stolen vehicles were recovered by police in Vienna and Maryland.

The unknown suspects stole items in some break-ins. One of the cases involved a laptop, credit cards and money stolen from a resident's three unlocked cars.
Vienna Police issued tips after a string of break-ins the previous week. Residents are asked to lock their vehicles, remove valuables and keys, and report suspicious activity.

300 Block Roosevelt Court, NE
Between May 24 at 7:00 p.m. and May 25 at 10:00 a.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and stole US currency.

300 Block Jean Place
Between May 24 at 9:00 p.m. and May 25 at 9:45 a.m.
A resident reported that someone entered their three vehicles and rummaged through them. The vehicles had all been left unlocked. A purse, a driver’s license, US currency, credit cards, gift card, and a laptop, were taken from the vehicles.

A resident reported that someone rummaged through his unlocked vehicle and took a store membership card.

Between May 24 at 9:10 p.m. and May 25 at 6:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. She believes a checkbook and change purse may have been taken.

While investigating other reports of other vehicle tamperings, an officer located an unlocked vehicle that appeared to have been rummaged through. The owner of the vehicle advised that nothing appeared to be missing.

A resident reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing

A resident reported that someone entered her locked vehicle, rummaged through it, and took US currency. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle.

A resident reported that someone entered three of their unlocked vehicles and rummaged through them. Change was taken from one of the vehicles.

Between May 24 at 10:00 p.m. and May 25 at 10:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her wallet containing various bank cards and cell phone.
Stolen Vehicle 19-005441
500 Block Walker Street, SW
May 25 between 12:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.
A resident reported his vehicle was parked in front of his house when it was stolen. The doors were
locked, and a spare key was in the glovebox. Several vehicle tamperings were being reported in the area. While investigating these cases the stolen vehicle was located in the 1100 block of Drake Street, SW.

May 25 between 12:00 a.m. and 7:50 a.m.
A resident reported her purse and wallet were taken from her vehicle that she may have left unlocked. Her wallet contained her license, debit, and credit cards. The resident found that unauthorized charges were made on her cards.

While investigating reports of other vehicle tamperings, an officer located an unlocked vehicle that appeared to have been rummaged through. The owner of the vehicle advised that an undetermined amount of change was taken.

A resident reported that someone rummaged through their neighbor’s vehicle. It did not appear that anything was taken.
Stolen Vehicle 19-005456
100 Block Yeonas Drive, SE
May 25 between 12:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
A resident reported their vehicle was parked in the driveway between another car and the garage. The valet key was in the vehicle. An unknown person stole the vehicle by driving across the yard and onto the roadway. The vehicle was recovered by US Park Police in Maryland later that day.
